Our Diana

By Linda Joy Ventura

We had a princess who was strong and true
She was beautiful and kind and her love just grew
She knew what it was like to be unloved
So she tried to help all who felt discarded

She helped the sick and poor and lame
She helped little children who did not know her name
She was rich and famous and loved by all
She was always there to answer a call

The work she did must have been very tiring
But you never thought she thought it boring
She always looked her very best
A princess was a welcome guest

Her good works will always be remembered
Her sympathy towards others will be revered
A great big gap has now been left
Her sudden departure has left us bereft

We wish she didn’t have to go
Because we all loved her so
The lesson we can all learn
Is to be kind and gentle and show concern
