Post Christmas Blues

By Irene Sanderson

Dull dark days, deflated souls
uphill struggles, low morale
sneezing and wheezing
flatness, emptiness, nil enthusiasm

Sad looking workplaces
Bendy old Christmas cards, and decorations now so tired!
And work flows through slowly

Oh to wish on time to February?
By then, Christmas will be a faded memory
Days longer, and hopefully brighter
with optimism for spring

Then, all the year end blues will have flown
and my bank balance more healthy
But I shouldn’t wish time on
It’s far too precious – and the one thing I wish I could buy!
