Off I went early this morning
Just as the dawn was dawning
My car loaded up to the hilt
It was a hot day - I hoped I would not wilt
I opened my boot and the vultures dived in
But I made it clear I would not tolerate such a thing
My tables arranged and topped with treasures
My expensive things kept in the boot - my security measures
I sold a few things but it was to early to tell
If it would be a good day or if I would do well
Some people offered me half the price
I thought ' that’s not very nice'!
I saw lots of people I knew
So into a social event it grew
Mark, my favourite person was there
Tricky dickey also - smarmy git - I can't stand him near
The morning progressed - trade was slow
A few things sold but the table was beginning to bow
Then a lady came by and spent £46
So I thought great - I' m going to make mounds
Then to my utter horror I discovered
Two things had disappeared
Stolen from under my nose
Things I cannot afford to lose
But in the end the day turned out ok
I made £118 so it was worth the outlay
The rent was only £5
My time spent there was only a few hours
Swings and roundabouts is the name of the game
But on the whole I usually gain
Duck and dive and wheel and deal
Another car boot tomorrow I look forward to with zeal
