“Help for Haiti” Tour Continues Fund-Raising Efforts For The DEC Haiti Earthquake Appeal

By Lisa Ventura

The “Help for Haiti” tour that is taking place in Worcestershire over the next few months has raised nearly £700.00 so far for the DEC Haiti Earthquake Appeal, and the next “Help for Haiti” concert takes place on Saturday 27th February 2010 at The Art House Café in Worcester.

A number of live music acts in the area are donating their time to play at this gig and others to raise funds for the appeal and appearing on the bill this Saturday will be four renowned acoustic acts – Laura Thompson, Tyler Massey, Tina V and Chris Jones, who has written his own special song to raise further funds for the appeal entitled “Just Do What You Can”.

Lisa Ventura, Organiser of the “Help for Haiti” tour said: “We have had a fantastic start to the fund-raising for the DEC Haiti Earthquake Appeal and I’m hoping the rest of the tour will build on this. The acoustic concert at the Art House Café will be a very relaxed, ambient event so if you are out shopping in Worcester and fancy taking the weight off your feet with some lunch or with coffee/tea and cake, come on in, relax and listen to some fantastic live acoustic music at the same time”.

Entry to the event on Saturday is free, but donations will be welcome. There will also be T-shirts for sale at £6 each and CD’s of Chris’s Jones’s single “Just Do What You Can” will be for sale for £1 each. All proceeds from donations and these two items will go to the DEC Haiti Earthquake Appeal.

“We are also still looking for musicians and bands who are willing to play and donate their time to help support this worthy fund-raising appeal, and other volunteers to help promote the tour through their networks and online social media channels e.g. myspace, facebook and twitter,” said Lisa Ventura. “We are also looking for other promoters who are putting on live music events in February and March and who would like to join in with the fund-raising efforts. And if you can’t make any of the fund-raising events we are planning, you can still donate to the appeal by visiting www.justgiving.com/justdowhatyoucan - please donate to the cause even if you can only spare some small change, as every little bit helps”.
