Lisa Ventura : Creative Director & Managing Editor

Lisa Ventura is a writer, businesswoman, entrepreneur and PR Guru. She has lived in Worcester all her life and spent nearly seven years working for Chris Tarrant's management company, and got to see "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" go from a format called "Cash Mountain" to the global success it had all over the world. After this she became a PR Consultant and runs Titania PR, with a wide range of clients in various industries including public sector, the arts, entertainment, music and she also specialises in PR and Marketing for B2B and B2C companies.

She also runs the Titania Entertainment Group which offers everything a band or musician needs to promote themselves under one roof, manages several successful bands in the area including Kidderminster rockers Sons of Beaches, is the organiser of the successful Help for Haiti tour under the banner of Wizard Promotions, set up and founded the Worcester Music Festival with Chris Bennion of Not Just Sauce and is Festival Director of Worcester's very first Literature Festival which will be coming to the city in 2011. She reviews gigs for BBC Hereford and Worcester and regularly appears in the Worcester News.

Lisa's latest project is the re-launch of Worcester Women, not only online but as a printed version which will be launched in September 2010.

I’m thrilled to be part of Worcester Women and know it will be a great success over the coming years. Thanks Lisa for asking me aboard. It’s great to be able to ‘wear four hats’. Lisa and I have written various dramas and features over the years, and presently have 2 formats being considered for TV. We aim to launch Worcester Women as a magazine later in the year…So come on girls – let’s hear from you! Be one of first to contribute to this new website and magazine.

My writing background includes Columnist, reviews for local companies, editing, and am currently working on my Autobiography ‘Take one Woman’. My ‘special’ project is a second volume of Children’s stories, as a follow on from a Poetry collection, Let’s Pretend’, published by Foreward Press in 2007.

Emma Laidler : Contributor & Reviewer

Emma Laidler is Worcester born and currently lives in the north of the city. Her main interest is music and for Worcester Women she contribute reviews of the latest album releases and also covers live music events happening in the city. She has been playing in local bands for several years now and is currently one half of experimental duo Trap Floors. They are both former members of Worcester bands Motion Figures/Cobweb Dilemmas and are currently working in their home studio recording our debut album which is due for release later this year. From March onwards they will also be hitting the live music scene. Emma also works on the music department at the Worcester branch of HMV and has done since autumn 2007. Other interests she has include socialising, watching films, reading and running.

Hello everyone!

I thought the best way to start this blog would be to explain a little about me, my family and my situation. I’ve decided to write this blog anonymously. Mainly because I don’t want news of my pregnancy finding its way to my family through the medium of the internet before I have reached the safety of my third month! I’ve read the horror stories, known of friends caught out by leaving their deepest darkest thoughts about colleagues/bosses on the net only to include their name and hey presto, what do you know, they’re facing a disciplinary. Not that my parents would give me a disciplinary but I appreciate them enough not to want to break the news via the web.
Especially after how they reacted to news of my first born.

Okay, so the situation was very different. I was early 20s, I was in an on and off relationship, albeit for nearly five years, it was…. unexpected. For some reason I chose Mothering Sunday to break the news to my poor mom and after gabbling for a bit she said “I’m sorry, I need a bath.” Hmm. My dad on the other hand reacted differently, after an initial hug and kind words he found it hard to talk to me until little man was well on his way. Now, of course, they wouldn’t be without him and neither would we. Yes, I am still with the on/off boyfriend, except he is not on/off any more and we’re currently living in sin in deepest darkest Worcester. So, that’s me.

Esther Partridge is an internet addict, sometime blogger and all-the-time slummy but yummy mummy. When she's not lusting over stationery and her pen collection, she can be found scrapbooking or indulging in her passion for cooking. She loves teapots, cups and saucers and those tiered plates for cakes; afternoon tea is her favourite time of day. She has a passion for all things purple. She does not like ironing.

She has three children whom she adores and a boyfriend and a cat.

Rachel Hibberd : Photographer and Contributor

Rachel Hibberd is a full-time photographer from Malvern. She's taken pictures for many local magazines and local businesses, and taught photography at Worcester College of Technology. Currently she teaches A level photography at Bewdley School and Sixth Form Centre.

Her big break was photographing a campaign for Fisher Price toys, based on pictures she'd taken for a charity calenday. She now runs All Yours Photography (www.allyoursphotography.co.uk) with her husband Phil, photographing weddings and portraits. Phil photographs weddings with Rachel and also property for several local estate agents.

Rachel and Phil also run Photography Made Simple (www.photographymadesimple.co.uk) teaching photography to beginners at beautiful locations all over the UK. These courses particularly appeal to women, who often find the camera club/camera shop approach to photography a bit blokey and competitive. The couple have also taught photography at several local schools.

Rachel also has a successful career as a children's book illustrator - including a 15 book deal with Harper Collins.

When not photographing or drawing, Rachel is a bit of a petrolhead, either on the back of Phil's BMW 750 or in her own VW Corrado VR6. She also likes camping in her weird fold-up caravan!
